Building a Better White Ally

The past few years have forced more white people to reckon with privilege and power. Many new allies have taken steps to support racial justice and may be wondering what to do next. But there's no simple how-to guide for what to do or say (trust us, it doesn't exist).

Join us for this workshop series to learn how to begin or deepen your antiracist journey—without causing harm, making a mess, or making it all about you. We'll explore what you can do with your privilege, how to show up as an ally, and turn outrage into action.

This is a six-week online workshop series that includes:

Online lessons. Watch videos with course content whenever it fits into your schedule.

Coursework. Go deeper with resources, tools, and exercises to try at home.

Dialogue. Connect with other white allies, find support, ask questions, and reflect in this online discussion.

How It Works

Once registration closes, you’ll receive a password-protected link to access online lesson videos and download coursework materials. You’ll receive an email with a private Zoom link before the online discussion. We suggest participants set aside at least 4 - 6 hours over the duration of the workshop to complete the online videos, coursework, and Zoom.

What You’ll Learn

  • Shared language for examining whiteness, privilege, and antiracism.

  • Tools for talking about race openly, especially with other white folks.

  • Concrete recommendations and next steps for showing up as an ally.

  • Strategies for working in solidarity to dismantle structural racism.

  • Lessons learned from white allies past and present.
